The Mirus Trio, founded in 2007, consists of Eastman School of Music alumni violinist Hyungi Kim, cellist Jayoung Kim, and pianist Namhee Lim. The group’s name comes from the Latin word “mirus” meaning “extraordinary,” and the trio has proven its worth by performing in the country’s most prestigious venues and various television stations.
Each year The Mirus Trio gives performances at both major concert halls, such as the Seoul Arts Center and Kumho Art Hall, in addition to more casual venues. The ensemble’s extensive repertoire includes not only traditional classical works, but also contemporary masterpieces by Dmitry Shostakovich, Gaspar Cassadó, Paul Schoenfield, and Olivier Messiaen.
